GD reCAPTCHA for Protecting Directory Submission Forms

GD reCAPTCHA adds Google reCAPTCHA checks to supported GeoDirectory and WordPress forms. It provides directory form protection for sites that accept public submissions and reviews. GeoDirectory reCAPTCHA is useful when automated activity creates extra moderation work, although no CAPTCHA should be treated as a guarantee against every unwanted submission.

Directory Features

• Directory forms: Protect supported Add Listing, review and claim forms within the GeoDirectory workflow.
• WordPress forms: Apply checks to supported login, registration and comment forms as part of broader WordPress spam protection.
• Supported modes: Choose reCAPTCHA v2 checkbox, v2 invisible or v3 according to the site’s requirements.
• Display and role controls: Configure available presentation options and disable checks for selected logged-in roles where appropriate.

Choose the verification method with the actual audience in mind. A public listing form may receive very different traffic from a member-only review area. Consider whether legitimate contributors can complete the form comfortably, and review moderation results after changing protection settings. CAPTCHA is one part of a form-management process; administrators still need to assess submissions that pass verification. The addon requires suitable Google reCAPTCHA keys. It does not provide an independent identity check for business owners or verify the accuracy of information submitted to the directory.

For the visual foundation of a directory site, GeoDirectory Framework is a separate theme option. It does not replace the GeoDirectory plugin required by this addon.

No separate free edition of this addon was verified in the developer’s product information. GeoDirectory is required for directory-specific forms. Claim-form protection applies when the relevant claiming functionality is present. Google reCAPTCHA keys must match the chosen mode.
