Social Importer helps contributors import business listings into a GeoDirectory submission form from supported online sources. GeoDirectory social importer functions reduce repeated typing by bringing available business details into the form. This directory listing import tool works with an individual source URL rather than acting as a continuous synchronization service.

Directory Features

• Supported sources: The developer lists Facebook, Yelp and TripAdvisor URL imports, plus Google Business Profile imports through a connected user account.
• Available information: Import supported details such as the business name, description, address, hours, contact information and media when the source provides them.
• Category matching: Categories can be matched where source wording corresponds to the directory’s own categories.
• Publishing connections: Supported posting to Facebook or Google Business posts requires the relevant API configuration.

Imported information should be reviewed before a listing is published. A source page may contain an old telephone number, incomplete opening hours or a category that does not fit the directory. Let the contributor correct those details so the new record reflects the business accurately. Third-party services can change access rules, page layouts and available data, so importing every field from every page is not guaranteed. Social Importer performs a one-time import and does not provide bulk importing or automatic ongoing updates. It is suited to an individual submission workflow, not a scheduled migration of an entire directory.
