The WordPress countdown timer is placed within the page-building workflow and uses dates chosen by the website owner.
Features and Controls
- Start and expiration dates: Choose when the timer begins and when it reaches zero. Optional content can appear before the start date, allowing a page to explain what visitors are waiting for.
- Expiry behavior: Display a different message after the deadline or redirect visitors to a selected destination. These actions support a planned transition between an announcement and its follow-up page.
- Time display: Choose the time units shown, from years and months through minutes and seconds. The available format controls distinguish units that should always display from units shown only when nonzero.
